Anti-copy paper
Many documents need to be protected against counterfeiting and fraudulent copying. Anti-copy paper is the most efficient tool to safeguard confidential information and prevent any copies to be used as an original. It is also a safe means of checking authenticity of a document for both the company or body printing on them and for the receiver.
Whether anti-copy paper is used for contracts, permits, certificates of authenticity (CoAs) or any sensitive document, it will ensure that the documentation is authentic.
Instead of relying on one feature on the document, anti-copy paper uses covert and overt technologies, visible and barely visible features that will make it difficult for fraudsters to detect and copy.
Holograms, watermarks and embedded images can be added to anti-copy paper as overt features making it possible to acknowledge authenticity immediately. These features are also extremely difficult to copy or re-create without access to the printing stock, efficiently protecting the anti-copy paper from counterfeiting.
While overt features work as a first layer of defence on anti-copy paper, covert features add extra difficulties to forgers. Barely visible to the naked eyes, their presence need to be known by the forgers.
Pantograph is a powerful tool against counterfeiting where embedded words or images are printed on the document and revealed when the document is copied. The copy is instantly recognisable and the authenticity of the original document cannot be disputed.
Similar to the Pantograph technology, is Block-Out. Block out graphics are invisible and will make the anti-copy paper strongly distorted once copied.
It is also possible to use UV invisible ink on anti-copy paper. Invisible in a normal light, wordings or graphics will appear clearly when looked through long wave ultraviolet light. Impossible to re-instate and invisible to the eye, the UV invisible ink makes it virtually impossible to copy the original document.
Reproducing paper which contains such security devices requires access to facilities with specialised equipment and the knowledge to operate such equipment, something far beyond the capability of most forgers. Keeping a stock of specialised paper is one of the most traditional and safest means of protecting documents.
These features bring safety to the companies or public bodies issuing the documents as well as the receivers of them. The anti-copy paper is a stationery tool that can be produced in batch and used by companies or government bodies for any of their confidential documents.
